The Attorney General's Office of Justice of Mexico City (FGJCDMX) has confirmed the identity of the woman found dead in a garden of the Nonoalco Tlatelolco Housing Unit last Saturday, March 8, coinciding with International Women's Day.
The young woman was identified as Gilda Guadalupe 'N', 26 years old, by her family on Wednesday, March 12. The family presented themselves at the Institute of Forensic Sciences to claim the body, accompanied by agents from the Feminicide Prosecutor's Office.
Gilda had been reported missing days before, which led to the issuance of a bulletin with her photograph and identifying features to start the search. Her body was discovered by capital police, who requested the intervention of personnel and experts from the Prosecutor's Office.
Gilda's family informed authorities that on Wednesday, March 5, the young woman mentioned that she would meet with someone she knew and left her home in the Buenavista neighborhood. The Prosecutor’s Office already has information about the man who allegedly abandoned the body and continues to investigate to clarify the facts and apprehend those responsible.
According to the Feminicide Atlas of Mexico City, seven cases of murdered women have been reported in 2025 in different municipalities, a number that adds to the 71 cases recorded in 2024, with June being the month with the highest incidence. Feminicides in the capital have occurred in various areas, with 2020 being the year with the most incidents of this type.
Gilda's body was recognized by her tattoos, and the cause of her death, according to the forensic report, was generalized visceral congestion. So far, the possible causes of this condition in her health have not been revealed. The young woman worked near the Revolution Station of Line 2 of the Mexico City Metro.
